The 2025 Halloween Parade & Costume Contest was a spooktacular success! Here’s a look back at this year’s festive celebration in the Royalwood neighbourhood.

Event Recap

On October 31st, the Royalwood neighbourhood was filled with the sights and sounds of Halloween celebration. Over 120 costumed children and their families gathered at Royalwood Park for our annual Halloween event.

Parade Highlights

The parade kicked off at 5:30 PM with a vibrant procession through the neighbourhood. Participants wore costumes ranging from classic spooks and superheroes to creative DIY creations. Several parents even joined their children in costume, making it a truly family-friendly celebration.

Local businesses supported the event by donating candy and treats for distribution along the parade route. Volunteers stationed throughout ensured everyone had a safe, fun experience.

Costume Contest Results

Our costume contest featured three age categories, with generous prizes for the winners:

Ages 3-6

  • 🥇 First Place: Emma (Butterfly)
  • 🥈 Second Place: Ethan (Dinosaur)
  • 🥉 Third Place: Lily (Princess)

Ages 7-10

  • 🥇 First Place: Marcus (Homemade Robot)
  • 🥈 Second Place: Aisha (Vampire)
  • 🥉 Third Place: Jackson (Pirate)

Ages 11-14

  • 🥇 First Place: Sarah (Elaborate Zombie Costume)
  • 🥈 Second Place: Jordan (Werewolf)
  • 🥉 Third Place: Taylor (Witch)

Special Recognition

We’d like to thank:

  • Volunteers who helped organize and supervise the parade
  • Local businesses who donated candy and refreshments
  • Parents who brought their children and made the event family-friendly
  • The City of Winnipeg for closing the park area safely for the event

Looking Forward

The Halloween Parade continues to be a beloved Royalwood tradition. Based on this year’s excellent turnout and positive feedback, we’re already planning to make next year’s event even bigger and better.
