Board Updates

Annual General Meeting — Thank You for Coming!

What a fantastic turnout we had at the Royalwood Neighbourhood Association’s 2025 Annual General Meeting! On November 15, over 85 residents gathered at the Royalwood Community Centre to celebrate our achievements, discuss community priorities, and elect a new board for 2026.

Highlights from 2025

It was a busy and productive year for the RNA. Here are some of our accomplishments:

  • Successful Spring and Fall Cleanups: Combined, we had over 130 volunteers participate in community cleanup efforts, removing significant amounts of litter and debris from our neighbourhood.
  • Advocacy for Playground Upgrades: Through persistent community engagement, we successfully advocated for City of Winnipeg funding to upgrade playground equipment at Royalwood Park.
  • Enhanced Communication: Our newly redesigned website and regular newsletter helped keep residents informed about community events and issues.
  • Traffic Safety Initiatives: We launched a community survey and began the formal process of requesting traffic calming measures from the City.
  • Monthly Board Meetings: Our board met consistently to address resident concerns and plan community initiatives.

2025 Board Election Results

Residents voted for the 2026 board, and we’re thrilled to announce the following results:

Board Members for 2026:

  • President: Michael Chen (returning)
  • Vice President: Sarah Mitchell (returning)
  • Treasurer: James Okafor (newly elected)
  • Secretary: Linda Tran (newly elected)
  • Members at Large: David Rodriguez and Patricia Gonzalez

Congratulations to our elected representatives! We also want to extend our gratitude to outgoing board members for their service. Their contributions have strengthened Royalwood.

2026 Priorities

During the meeting, residents discussed and prioritized the following areas of focus for 2026:

  1. Complete playground equipment upgrade at Royalwood Park
  2. Implement traffic calming measures (speed bumps and signage)
  3. Expand community events and social opportunities for residents
  4. Improve pathway maintenance and beautification in the neighbourhood
